Vision Boarding
Early in our collective development, we convened over vision boarding workshops to allow ourselves to dream and share goals for the work we do and hope to do. Vision boarding involves collecting images or objects that speak to the future you want to create and arranging them on a board for a tangible and aesthetically pleasing reminder of where you're heading.
Accessible Events
Attending accessible events is crucial to informing the work we do. We’ve always been and continue to be curious about how we can create and be a part of more accessible events. It is our hope that we can share this knowledge with other event organizers to welcome more people with disabilities.
Here are few accessible events we’ve attended:
Sense IT
Xenia Concerts
Over the Edge
Tangled Arts Festival
Tools for Change:
Accessible Design Workshop
Site Visits
In attending accessible events, we learned how important it is to do site visits with venues to ask the right questions and begin a dialogue early on in your event-planning journey about how best to support your audience, participants, or attendees with disabilities. Most of our site visits have consisted of community-art focused venues in the Greater Toronto Area, while other visits have brought us as far as Mississauga to learn more about the only physically accessible escape room.
Here are few places we’ve visited:
Sketch
Artscape Sandbox
Artscape Launchpad
Artscape Youngplace
Panic Room Escape
TMU’s Inclusive Design Research Centre
